The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, has stated that stopping the aggression of Zionist Israel in the besieged Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Syria should be the top priority for Middle Eastern countries.

During a separate meeting held yesterday (Thursday) on the sidelines of the D-8 Summit of developing countries in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, the Iranian President made these remarks. He said, "We are meeting here today at a time when the Middle East is going through sensitive, complex, and unstable circumstances."

He further stated, "As we approach 14 months since the Gaza aggression began, we are witnessing the continuous brutality of Zionist Israel and one of the most tragic crimes in human history against the Palestinian people. Moreover, in recent months, Zionist Israel has carried out barbaric attacks in Lebanon and Syria."

President Pezeshkian emphasized that over the past year, Zionist Israel has not only stripped the Palestinian people of their rights to freedom, self-determination, security, welfare, and education but also denied them the right to life, access to food, water, shelter, and even the knowledge of what has happened to their family members. Most of the victims of Israel's horrific brutality are women and children. The world is condemning Israel for its crimes against humanity and the inhumane situation it has created for Palestinians.

The Iranian President strongly urged the establishment of cooperation and coordination among Muslim countries to prioritize stopping Israel's barbarity and widespread aggression. As a first step, he called for pressure on Zionist Israel to enforce a ceasefire in Gaza and to prevent attacks on Lebanon and Israel. He emphasized that these issues must be of utmost moral importance to D-8 member countries.

He also called for the withdrawal of occupying forces from the besieged Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank. Additionally, he highlighted the need to facilitate the return of displaced refugees to their homes in Gaza.
