In response to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)'s long march towards Agartala, India has heightened its border vigilance. Additional forces have been deployed at the international border check posts in Agartala, as confirmed by Kiran Kumar, the Superintendent of Police for West Tripura district.

He stated, "We have increased police presence here for the past week. There is 24-hour vigilance in place. We are maintaining regular contact with the Border Security Force (BSF). Patrols are being conducted in border areas and communally sensitive regions. Surveillance at the border has also been strengthened, and we are monitoring the situation closely."

At the border check post, it was observed that in addition to the BSF's increased presence, members of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Tripura State Rifles are also stationed there.

However, the border has not been closed, and a few individuals were seen crossing into India.
