Iran Expresses Strong Support for Syria After Rebel Advances in Aleppo

 Iran's top diplomat, Abbas Araghchi, is set to visit Damascus on Sunday to reaffirm Tehran's strong support for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government and military. This move comes after significant advances by rebel forces in Aleppo, including the capture of the city's airport and control over much of the area.

Iran has long been a staunch ally of Syria in its civil war, with Iranian-backed Hezbollah from Lebanon also fighting alongside Syrian forces. In light of the recent rebel gains, Araghchi's visit aims to send a clear message of solidarity from Tehran to Damascus.

Araghchi has pledged to support the Syrian military in its fight against terrorist groups, calling the rebel advance a part of a conspiracy orchestrated by the United States and Israel. He emphasized that Iran remains committed to backing the Syrian government in its ongoing battle.
