Sen. Bernie Moreno Says He Will Introduce $5,000 “Trump Dividend” Bill After Election

President Donald Trump has pledged a $5,000 payment to every adult U.S. citizen if Republicans win control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate in the upcoming midterm elections.

Following Trump’s announcement, Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, said he would prepare legislation to authorize the payments and seek its immediate passage after the election.

“I will get a bill ready so that we can get the Trump Dividend passed immediately after the November 3rd election … because Republicans (and America) will win!” Moreno wrote on X.

Trump made the pledge Wednesday at the GOP midterm convention, saying Republicans’ victory in both chambers would pave the way for what he called the “Trump dividend.”

“So if the Republicans win, you win with us and you get $5,000 dollars,” Trump said.

Moreno’s comments suggest Republicans could move quickly to turn Trump’s proposal into legislation if the party secures control of both chambers on Nov. 3. The proposal would still require congressional approval before any payments could be made.
