Global Leaders Focus on Climate Action on Final Day of Rio G-20 Summit

 On the concluding day of the G-20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, world leaders held a crucial discussion on transitioning to sustainable development and clean energy systems. The meeting aimed to take positive steps toward ensuring the success of the upcoming UN Climate Conference (COP29).

Azerbaijan, the host of COP29, had earlier urged G-20 nations to commit to clear guidelines and substantial funding to tackle climate change. Given that G-20 countries are responsible for a significant share of global carbon emissions, the summit emphasized the need to increase climate financing and accelerate progress toward sustainable development goals.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, along with other global leaders, participated in a special photoshoot titled Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty at Rio’s Museum of Modern Art. This initiative seeks to strengthen efforts in combating hunger and poverty worldwide.

The Rio G-20 Summit is being hailed as a vital step in addressing the global climate crisis. Leaders expressed optimism that the discussions will pave the way for a meaningful agreement at COP29.
