Iran Warns of 'Crushing Response' After Major U.S. Strikes
Iran's top joint military command, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, has warned that it will deliver a "crushing response" after U.S. forces carried out large-scale airstrikes inside Iran on Tuesday.
The military headquarters described the U.S. attacks as a "blatant act of aggression" and declared that Tehran would not allow the United States to interfere in Iran's management of the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement came after the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces had struck more than 80 targets across Iran on Tuesday in retaliation for Tehran's attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
A U.S. official told Fox News that the strikes were a "direct response" to what Washington described as acts of international terrorism targeting innocent commercial ships traveling through the strategically vital waterway.
