Trump expressed concern over the devastating toll the war has taken on civilians and soldiers alike. "In the last three days, thousands of people have died. They were soldiers, but if they weren't soldiers, if they were just ordinary citizens living in the city, we can’t view this as right," he said.
He also pointed to his political victory in the recent elections, calling it "the biggest political victory in 129 years," noting that the Republicans won all the swing states and secured the popular vote.
Trump also mentioned the state of the nation since his election on November 5, stating, "Everything is going well in the country, as since I was elected on November 5." He highlighted the soaring costs of everyday goods and urged lawmakers to pass bills to address economic challenges.
In his victory speech, Trump also hinted at his upcoming presidential term, stating, “I think it’s important, Mr. Speaker, that you pass a bill to start my term from November 5 or, if you prefer, from November 6.”
Following his victory, Republicans have secured control of the House, Senate, and the White House. Trump won 312 electoral votes, defeating Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris. He is set to take the presidential oath of office on January 20, 2025, for a four-year term.
