Washington, D.C. — A fierce national security debate has resurfaced in the United States following the Biden administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. Critics argue that the chaotic evacuation created one of the worst national security crises in American history.

Opposition leaders claim that during the rushed withdrawal, nearly 100,000 unvetted Afghan nationals were allowed to enter the United States, many without proper identity checks, background screening, or verification of intent. They argue the administration failed to ensure adequate vetting procedures before bringing these individuals onto American soil.

A statement released by critics said:

“The Biden administration abandoned Afghanistan irresponsibly and brought tens of thousands of unvetted Afghan aliens into the country. They figured out who they were only after they were already inside the United States.”

It also stated that former President Donald Trump has been working “every day since January 20” to clean up what they describe as an unmitigated national security disaster, despite not being in office.

The Biden administration has repeatedly rejected these accusations, saying the vast majority of Afghan evacuees were interpreters, allies, human rights workers, and families whose lives were in immediate danger under Taliban rule. Officials maintain that multiple layers of security screening were conducted before their relocation.

Still, the criticism remains intense. Opponents argue that the speed and scale of the evacuation left significant gaps in the vetting process, potentially creating long-term national security concerns.

Analysts believe the Afghanistan withdrawal will remain a central flashpoint in the United States’ political debate heading into the 2025 election cycle.
