akistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Tuesday that Afghan nationals were responsible for two deadly suicide bombings that struck the country in recent weeks, killing more than 50 people and wounding dozens.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Sanaullah said investigations had revealed that the bombers had crossed into Pakistan from Afghanistan and received training in militant camps based across the border.

“We have solid evidence that both attackers were Afghan citizens,” the minister said, adding that Pakistan had shared its findings with the Taliban-led Afghan government.

The statement comes amid rising tensions between the two countries, as Pakistan continues to accuse Afghan-based militants of carrying out cross-border attacks. Kabul has rejected the allegations, saying it does not allow its territory to be used against neighbors.

The minister also said that Pakistan had stepped up surveillance along the border and was reviewing its visa policies for Afghan nationals.

The bombings — one targeting a mosque in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and another in Balochistan — were among the deadliest in months, underscoring the renewed threat posed by militant groups operating in the region.
