[Tel Aviv, July 23, 2025] — Israeli police arrested an elderly woman two weeks ago on charges of plotting a bomb attack against Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The information was reported by Israel’s official broadcaster Kan (KAN) on Wednesday.

According to the report, the accused woman is a resident of central Israel and was involved in a conspiracy to carry out an attack targeting the Prime Minister using an explosive device.

After the arrest, she was interrogated by Israeli police and the internal intelligence agency Shin Bet. Subsequently, she was released on the condition that she not approach the Prime Minister’s office or other government buildings, as per court orders.

Details of the case have not yet been made public due to ongoing investigations. However, Kan reported that formal charges related to "criminal and terrorism offenses" may be filed against the accused on Thursday.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion in the country, especially since the accused is an elderly woman — a profile not typically associated with political violence. Israeli security forces say such incidents compel them to be more vigilant in addressing security challenges.
