U.S. President Donald Trump has hinted that he is willing to lift sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic of Iran and is planning new rounds of negotiations. Speaking to reporters at the start of a dinner meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump made the remarks.

“I’ll lift the sanctions at the right time — to give them a chance to rebuild. Because I’d like to see Iran reconstruct itself through peaceful means, not with the same old chants of ‘Death to America’ and ‘Death to Israel’,” said Trump.

However, Iranian officials have stated that they have not yet received any formal proposal for talks from the U.S. government.

Trump also referenced Syria, saying that after the fall of President Bashar al-Assad’s government, the U.S. lifted its sanctions on the country. He hinted that a similar step could be taken with Iran.

“Iran will no longer be the troublemaker of the Middle East. They have tremendous potential — they have oil power, and they have great, intelligent, and hardworking people,” Trump added.

The U.S. President also praised the American pilots who took part in recent airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, emphasizing that the United States remains highly alert regarding Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Trump’s remarks suggest a dual approach — continuing pressure on Iran’s nuclear program while leaving the door open for diplomacy and economic reintegration, provided Iran moves away from hostile rhetoric and regional destabilization.
