[Riyadh, July 3, 2025] — Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman formally welcomed Indonesia’s newly elected President Prabowo Subianto at the Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Wednesday. This information was reported via the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
During the meeting between the top leaders of the two countries, discussions focused on bilateral relations, commercial cooperation, and joint positions on regional and international issues. They reviewed potential areas to deepen and strategically enhance Saudi-Indonesian ties.
Additionally, the leaders co-chaired the inaugural session of the Saudi-Indonesian Supreme Coordination Council. After the meeting, they signed a memorandum of understanding signaling a new phase in cooperation between the two nations.
This visit marks President Prabowo Subianto’s first trip to Saudi Arabia since assuming office and is regarded as a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral relations.
Analysts believe that Saudi-Indonesian partnerships in energy, Hajj management, investment, and defense sectors are expected to intensify in the future. As Indonesia is the country with the world’s largest Muslim population, its relationship with Riyadh also holds considerable significance for the broader Muslim world.
