Tehran, July 2, 2025 — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has signed into law a measure suspending cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), according to Iranian state broadcaster Press TV and other official sources on Tuesday.

The Iranian parliament passed the law last week, directing the government to halt information-sharing and inspection activities with the IAEA related to its nuclear program.

The move comes amid escalating tensions between Tehran, Tel Aviv, and Washington over Iran’s nuclear activities and growing military concerns — particularly with reduced IAEA access to key Iranian nuclear sites and fears of potential Israeli strikes.

Iranian officials claim that “politically motivated provocations” from the West and biased IAEA reports are undermining the country’s national security and sovereignty.

Analysts warn the decision could severely damage efforts to rebuild transparency and trust between Iran and the IAEA, further intensifying international concern over Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

The IAEA has not yet issued an official response.
