Al Jazeera reported this information in a report on Tuesday (March 5) night. Tesla has halted production at its German factory after a radical left-wing group set fire to power lines supplying the plant through “sabotage,” reports said.
Earlier on Tuesday, emergency services were called to reports of a fire at a power tower southeast of Berlin near a Tesla plant.
The fire was later put out, but due to extensive damage to the lines, the electric car factory in the province of Brandenburg lost power as well as the surrounding villages. Police said they have started an investigation into the suspicious arson.
The hard-left group Vulkangruppe (Vulcano Group) claimed responsibility for the attack. “Through sabotage, we aim to achieve the largest possible blackout of the Gigafactory,” the group said in a statement.
