Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has surpassed Hitler in the crime of genocide – Turkish President Erdogan
[Ankara, June 18, 2025] — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has declared that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has "long surpassed Hitler in the crime of genocide." He made this statement during a parliamentary group meeting of the ruling AK Party in Ankara on Wednesday.
Erdogan said:
"It is completely natural, legitimate, and lawful for Iran to defend itself against Israel’s banditry and state terrorism."
Directly attacking Netanyahu, Erdogan stated:
"Netanyahu has long surpassed Hitler in the crime of genocide. We hope their fates do not turn out to be the same."
Erdogan blames silent supporters for the killing of children and humanitarian catastrophe
He said:
"The blood of innocent children, newborns, and civilians being brutally murdered is not only on the hands of Israel’s supporters but also on those who remain silent."
Referring to Israeli aggression in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran, Erdogan added:
"We are doing everything possible to stop this inhumane aggression."
Turkey closely monitoring Israeli attacks on Iran
On the issue of regional security, Erdogan said:
"We are closely monitoring Israel’s terrorist attacks on Iran. All our institutions are on alert to counter any possible repercussions of these attacks on Turkey."
Reassuring the Turkish people, he added:
"The government is fully committed to protecting the nation’s interests, peace, unity, and security."
Criticism of international silence and a pledge to promote peace
Erdogan stated:
"Even in the face of such blatant aggression against humanity, the UN, international organizations, and many countries remain silent. Some even support this banditry."
He emphasized:
"Ending Israeli aggression is critically important for the world and for humanity."
"Everyone in this region, including our neighbor Iran, must draw lessons from this crisis."
Turkey’s diplomatic struggle for peace will continue
In the concluding part of his address, Erdogan said:
"We will not stop our diplomatic efforts or backchannel communications. We will do everything in our power to prevent a disaster that could affect everyone."
Analysts believe Erdogan’s strong remarks have further fueled outrage against Israel in the Muslim world. Turkey’s firm stance has added a new dimension to the diplomatic balance in the Middle East.
