“Iranians do not surrender — Israel will pay dearly for its mistake,” says Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
[Tehran, June 18, 2025] — Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared that Iran is not a nation that surrenders and warned that Israel would “pay a heavy price for its mistake.” The warning came in a statement broadcast on Iranian state television. While Khamenei did not speak directly, a presenter read his written message aloud.
Khamenei stated:
“Those who know Iran, its people, and its history never speak to this nation in the language of threats. Because Iranians do not surrender.”
This statement comes shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump recently called for Iran’s “unconditional surrender.” Responding to that, Khamenei said:
“Just as Iran will firmly resist an imposed war, it will also firmly oppose any imposed peace.”
He continued:
“This nation will never surrender to pressure from anyone.”
Khamenei also warned that:
“Any form of U.S. military intervention will undoubtedly face devastating and irreparable consequences.”
Directly addressing Israel, he said:
“Israel will pay a heavy price for its mistake.”
According to Tasnim News Agency, the statement reflects Iran’s official stance amid recent Israeli airstrikes and the ongoing tensions in Tehran. Analysts believe Khamenei’s words signal a new wave of geopolitical escalation in the Middle East, which may trigger serious reactions in the coming days.
