“Call for Unity Among Islamic States to Stop Israeli Aggression in Iran,” Says Turkish President Erdoğan
Turkey, June 15, 2025 — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian strongly condemned Israel's recent attacks during a phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, the two leaders discussed the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and the responsibilities of the Muslim world in response.
During the call, President Pezeshkian stated, “It is now imperative for Islamic countries to build their defensive capabilities and work together in the interest of peace and development.” He emphasized that unity and coordination among Muslim nations are the only viable means to thwart Israel’s aggressive plans.
He further added, “Israel has once again shown that it has no regard for human rights or international law. They are ruthlessly killing innocent civilians, scientists, government officials, and military personnel.” Pezeshkian also thanked Erdoğan for his solidarity and support toward Iran and its people.
According to IRNA, President Erdoğan described Israel’s recent attacks as “illegal and inhumane” and expressed deep condolences for those killed and injured in Iran. Referring to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu by name, Erdoğan said, “Netanyahu is attempting to spread instability in the region, and Turkey will not tolerate it.”
Erdoğan also reiterated Turkey’s support for a diplomatic and peaceful resolution to Iran’s nuclear issue.
Analysts suggest that this phone conversation sends a significant message calling for strategic unity among Muslim countries in the Middle East — potentially indicating a coordinated stance against Israeli aggression.
