Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Seeks President Donald Trump's Support Amid Nuclear Tensions with Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended birthday wishes to President Donald Trump and paid tribute to the U.S. military men and women who have “defended freedom for 250 years.”

Netanyahu stated that the Israeli military is safeguarding “freedom in the Middle East” and referred to the Iranian regime as “tyrannical.”

“Our enemies are your enemies. What we are doing is confronting something that—sooner or later—poses a threat to all of us,” Netanyahu said.

Without providing specific evidence, he claimed that if Israel had not acted, Iran would have armed its proxies Hezbollah and Hamas with nuclear weapons.

“With the clear support of U.S. President Donald Trump, the American people, and many others around the world, Israel is taking this action,” he added.
