Washington, USA, June 11, 2025 — Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recently apologized for his personal attacks on President Donald Trump, which the former U.S. President said made him "feel good."

In a Wednesday morning phone interview with The New York Post, Trump said,

"I think he apologized — that felt really good."

However, Trump did not directly say whether his relationship with Musk would return to what it was before.

Last week, Musk had harshly attacked Trump in several social media posts. He claimed that without Musk’s support, Trump could not have won the 2024 election and even implied that Trump had blocked the release of Jeffrey Epstein files due to past associations with Epstein.

Musk later deleted those posts and wrote late Tuesday night:

"I apologize for some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. I went a little overboard."

Trump had previously criticized Musk’s mental state, calling him afflicted with “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and saying Musk became frustrated after leaving the White House. Among the reasons behind Musk’s anger, according to Trump, was the repeal of the electric vehicle tax credit bill through the Republican-led Congress, which Trump called the “Big Beautiful Bill.”

In an interview with CNN, Trump said,

“Musk has gone crazy.”

On Truth Social, he also wrote that his administration might reconsider Musk’s federal contracts.

But in his latest response, Trump appeared to take a more conciliatory tone. To The Post columnist Miranda Devine, he said,

“I’m not surprised by anything anymore.”

He noted he was not blaming Musk, although the whole incident started with Musk’s criticism of the “Big Beautiful Bill.” Trump said,

“I’m a little disappointed... but I hold no grudge. I was genuinely surprised. He went against a bill that’s amazing... I think he realized he made a mistake.”

When asked if his relationship with Musk would return to normal, Trump told the Pod Force One podcast,

“Maybe it will, but we need to straighten out the country first.”

He added,

“My only goal now is to take this country to a higher place than ever before. And I believe we can do that.”
