Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi Meets Lebanese President Joseph Aoun — Pledges Support for Regional Integrity
Tehran, June 3, 2025

According to a report by Mehr News Agency, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Joseph Aoun, the current President of Lebanon, during his visit to Beirut on Tuesday.

As part of his one-day trip to Lebanon, Araghchi also held talks with Lebanese Foreign and Immigration Minister Yusuf Razi.

Upon his arrival at Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport on Tuesday morning, Araghchi was formally received by Lebanese officials.

In his first public remarks after landing, Araghchi stated:

“We support Lebanon’s independence and regional integrity. No country has the right to interfere in Lebanon’s internal affairs.”

He added:

“Iran will stand by Lebanon in resisting the Zionist regime’s occupation,” stressing that
“This support from a friendly and allied country is not interference in Lebanon’s internal affairs.”

Araghchi further noted:

“Relations between Iran and Lebanon are very strong, as reflected in the statements of our Supreme Leader. The people of Lebanon have stood by Iran in difficult times.”
