During his official visit to Tehran, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared Pakistan’s support for Iran’s peaceful nuclear program. In a joint press conference with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, Sharif emphasized that all regional disputes should be resolved through dialogue and negotiation. He called for the peaceful settlement of issues such as Kashmir and water disputes, and stated that while Pakistan is ready to engage in trade and anti-terrorism talks with India, any aggressive actions from India would compel Pakistan to exercise its right to self-defense.

The Prime Minister described Iran as Pakistan’s “second home” and called the visit significant. He noted that both countries have agreed to enhance mutual cooperation in trade, investment, and culture. He praised President Pezeshkian’s recent phone call, calling it a sign of genuine concern for regional stability and a reflection of brotherly ties between the two nations. Sharif also expressed gratitude for Iran’s continued support and its constructive role in promoting regional peace.

In addition, Prime Minister Sharif strongly condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza, stating that more than 50,000 Muslims have been killed so far, which he described as "deeply tragic." He urged world leaders to take effective action to end the bloodshed, reaffirming Pakistan’s full support for the Palestinian people and their right to independence.

In response, President Pezeshkian welcomed Pakistan’s stance and called for deepening bilateral ties. He stressed the importance of joint efforts by Iran and Pakistan to curb criminal activity along their shared border. Praising the recent ceasefire between Pakistan and India, he reaffirmed his commitment to resolving all conflicts through peaceful means. President Pezeshkian emphasized that peace and cooperation are essential for stability in South Asia.

Before arriving in Tehran, Prime Minister Sharif completed a two-day visit to Turkey, where he expressed gratitude for Turkish leaders’ support during recent Pakistan-India tensions. In Tehran, he was welcomed with a guard of honor and the playing of national anthems.

Both leaders expressed optimism about strengthening regional relations and advancing peaceful cooperation. This meeting is being viewed as a major step forward in Pakistan-Iran relations.
