“If We Stay Silent on Gaza, No One Will Understand Us on Ukraine” – French President Emmanuel Macron

Tirana, Albania, May 17 – French President Emmanuel Macron has warned European leaders that remaining silent on the Gaza genocide undermines the credibility of their stance on Ukraine, making their position appear inconsistent and unconvincing.

Speaking at a European summit, Macron stated:

“Most of the world is watching us. Often, they don’t understand what we are doing regarding Ukraine, but we have to explain it.”

He further added:

“They don’t understand us at all when we stay silent on Gaza. They say, ‘You tell us life is in danger when sovereignty is violated, yet you close your eyes when a genocide takes place!’”

Macron clarified:

“I am not making a comparison. I know history. But we must collectively wake up—our policy on this issue must be consistent.”
