U.S. President Donald Trump has said that he wants to make a deal with Iran during the ongoing nuclear negotiations, but warned that if the Islamic Republic of Iran "rejects this offer of peace," he will destroy Iran's economy.
In a foreign policy speech in Riyadh, Trump said:
"I want to make a deal with Iran. If I can make a deal with Iran, I will be very happy — if it helps make our region and the world a safer place."
"But if Iran's leadership rejects this offer of peace and continues to attack its neighbors, then we will have no choice — we will apply maximum pressure and bring Iran’s oil exports back to zero, just like I did before," he said.
"Iran will never get a nuclear weapon. But at the same time, let me say, Iran can have a much brighter future," he added.
"This offer will not last forever. Now is the right time for them to decide... things are moving very quickly," Trump said.
He further added,
"The path you [Arab nations] have taken on the Arabian Peninsula cannot be compared to anything in the Persian Gulf."
