Pakistan Welcomes President Donald Trump’s Stance on Kashmir, Seeks to Strengthen Trade Ties with the United States

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement welcoming U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks on India-Pakistan relations and the Kashmir issue, recognizing his position as a "helpful role."

The statement said, “We are grateful for the constructive role played by the United States and other allied nations in the establishment of the ceasefire.”

Pakistan further noted, “We appreciate President Trump’s expressed interest in resolving the Kashmir issue. It is a longstanding dispute that affects not only South Asia but global peace and security.”

The statement reiterated Pakistan’s position: “A just and lasting solution to the Kashmir issue must be based on the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and must ensure the right to self-determination for the people of Kashmir.”

Additionally, Pakistan expressed its hope to deepen a broad-based partnership with the United States, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
