Following a ceasefire declaration after recent border tensions with India, a sense of relief has spread across Pakistan. The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PAA) announced in a statement that the country's airspace is now fully open for all types of international and domestic flights.

According to Pakistan’s leading daily Dawn, commercial aircraft and other equipment that were temporarily relocated for safety are being repositioned, and normal flight operations are expected to resume in full shortly.

Flight tracking platform Flightradar24 also confirmed that Pakistani airspace has been reopened.

Expert Commentary
International analyst and historian Ayesha Jalal remarked that the ceasefire was “timely and extremely necessary.”

She said, “Since 2019, India and Pakistan have had no direct communication. It’s crucial to establish an effective communication mechanism to prevent the two countries from sliding into conflict over issues like Kashmir or terrorism-related incidents.”

Analysts believe the ceasefire marks an important step in de-escalating tensions and opens a new window for peace between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. However, they caution that an immediate resolution to the Kashmir issue remains unlikely.
