In an official statement issued Saturday night by the Press Wing of the Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, Bangladesh lauded the ceasefire agreement as a “positive and necessary step toward regional peace.”
“I extend my sincere gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for their effective mediation efforts,” the Chief Advisor said in the statement.
The message further stated that Bangladesh supports any diplomatic initiative that aims to resolve disputes between neighboring countries peacefully. “We stand ready to support all efforts for constructive dialogue and regional stability,” it added.
