Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during which Beijing reaffirmed its full support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amid ongoing regional tensions.
According to a statement released by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the call was part of continued diplomatic engagement in response to India-Pakistan military escalation. The two ministers discussed the recent developments along the border, with Dar briefing Wang Yi on what he described as India’s aggression and Pakistan’s “measured and calculated response.”
In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Ministry said, “Foreign Minister Wang Yi acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s restraint and responsible behavior during the crisis.”
Wang Yi assured that China stands firmly with Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty, national independence, and regional integrity, adding,
"China will always be a reliable strategic partner and all-weather friend of Pakistan."
Both leaders committed to maintaining close communication and coordination in the coming days to ensure peace and stability in the region.
Geopolitical analysts view this reaffirmation of China’s support not only as a testament to the strong bilateral friendship but also as a strategic signal in South Asia’s evolving power dynamics, indicating that Beijing remains a key backer of Islamabad in times of regional conflict.
