On Monday, the United Kingdom celebrated the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. A grand parade was held, with members of the British armed forces, along with troops from Ukraine and NATO allies, participating in the event.

Among the participants was 100-year-old Royal Air Force veteran Alan Kennett, who landed in northern France on D-Day. He received a salute from Garrison Sergeant Major Andrew Stokes, signaling the start of the parade.

The parade began at the Houses of Parliament, proceeding through Trafalgar Square and The Mall before reaching Buckingham Palace. The event concluded with a flyover featuring British military aircraft, including a wartime Lancaster bomber and the RAF’s Red Arrows aerobatic team.

The parade was attended by King Charles III and other members of the royal family, including Prince William, Prince George, Prince Louis, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Princess Charlotte.

This historic moment was a tribute to the brave soldiers of World War II and will be forever remembered in British history.
