According to a report by Mehr News Agency, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has killed 100 armed militants and arrested another 150 in counterterrorism operations across the Sistan and Baluchestan province since November, Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the IRGC Ground Forces, announced.

He disclosed the information during a ceremony held Thursday in Rask city, Sistan and Baluchestan, commemorating security personnel killed in an April 6, 2024, attack.

Referring to the attacks in Rask and Chabahar, Pakpour stated, “All 18 terrorists killed in those operations were foreigners who had entered the area disguised as local fuel smugglers. They hid weapons inside fuel tankers.”

He added that the captured accomplices had confirmed this information during interrogations. Pakpour urged local residents to remain vigilant and to resist efforts by foreigners to blend in as locals.

Discussing a separate incident in the Goharkuh region, he said, “Following that attack, our security operations led to the arrest of over 150 terrorists and the elimination of 100 more.”

According to Pakpour, those arrested admitted they were acting on orders from a fugitive who fled Rask and joined anti-government forces abroad.

He called on local communities not to be influenced by such individuals and not to rent their homes to unfamiliar persons who could pose a threat to regional security and development.

Expressing support for the families of fallen security personnel, Pakpour said, “We must all work together to address the challenges faced by the families of those who have sacrificed their loved ones for the nation’s security.”
