India May Launch Strike on Pakistan Within 24 to 36 Hours Following Kashmir Attack, Says Intelligence Report

According to a report by Pakistan's Anadolu Agency, based on intelligence information, Islamabad has warned that India may carry out a military strike within the next 24 to 36 hours in response to a recent deadly attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir that has heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said Islamabad possesses "credible intelligence information" that New Delhi is planning a military operation under "false and fabricated pretexts."

On April 22, gunmen attacked a tourist site in Pahalgam, killing 26 people.

"Pakistan reiterates that any military adventurism by India will be met with a firm and decisive response," said the minister. "The international community must recognize this reality—that the responsibility for any escalation and its consequences will lie squarely with India."

New Delhi has claimed there is a “cross-border connection” to the attack.

Islamabad, on the other hand, has denied any involvement, expressed concern over the incident, and offered to cooperate in an independent investigation.

Following the attack, India has suspended the long-standing water-sharing agreement—the Indus Waters Treaty—prompting condemnation from Islamabad.

Additionally, both countries have halted cross-border movement, and diplomatic relations have further deteriorated.
