(Tehran, April 28, 2025) – According to a report by Mehr News Agency, it was stated that on Monday, during an event, the Presidents of Iran and Azerbaijan signed 7 cooperation agreements in Baku. On April 28, a document exchange ceremony between Azerbaijan and Iran took place in Baku, attended by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, as reported by Azernews.

“We will strive to improve and deepen the relations between Iran and Azerbaijan,” said Pezeshkian, who is on an official visit to Baku, during the event.
He added, “We can establish better relations with neighboring countries and with European countries as well.”
“Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have been long-time friends and supporters of each other. We share many common aspects in religion, culture, and politics,” he said.
In response, the Azerbaijani President stated, “I believe that this bilateral meeting will help in the development of our relations. We have had very good exchanges on various issues. Both countries must work towards the expansion and development of relations.”
“Important documents have been signed between the two countries, and these documents reflect the efforts to enhance the bilateral relationship between the two nations,” Aliyev stated.
“The North-South Corridor is of utmost importance for the countries involved in this project. The Republic of Azerbaijan will provide all necessary conditions for strengthening and utilizing the North-South Corridor,” he added.
