According to a report by Al Jazeera, Iran has offered to mediate amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran is prepared to assist in improving relations between the two neighboring countries.
In a post on social media platform X yesterday, he wrote:
"India and Pakistan are Iran's brotherly neighbors, with whom we share centuries-old cultural and civilizational ties. Like our other neighbors, they are among our priorities."
He further said:
"During these difficult times, Iran is ready to use its strong relations with both Islamabad and New Delhi to help enhance mutual understanding."
Iran's call for mediation has reportedly been received positively in diplomatic circles around the world. However, neither India nor Pakistan has issued any official response as of yet.
