According to a report from the state news agency TASS, Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the liberation of the Kursk Region from Ukrainian forces has created favorable conditions for further successes by Russian troops on other fronts and has brought the defeat of the neo-Nazi regime closer. He made these remarks during a meeting on Saturday with Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov.

During the meeting, Gerasimov informed Putin that the Kursk Region had been completely liberated from Ukrainian forces.

Putin said, "The complete defeat of the enemy in the border region of Kursk has paved the way for more successful operations by our troops in other major frontline areas and brings the defeat of the neo-Nazi regime closer."

He further stated, "The Kiev regime’s initiative has completely failed, and the enemy has suffered massive losses — especially among its best-trained, best-equipped units outfitted with Western weapons, including assault and special operations forces. These losses will undoubtedly impact the broader battlefield."

Putin congratulated the Russian soldiers and commanders on their victory against the Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region.

He said, "I congratulate all the personnel, fighters, and commanders on this success and victory. I thank you for the courage and heroism you have shown, and for your service to our Motherland and the people of Russia."

Putin also noted that the names of the Russian units that played a key role in liberating the Kursk region should be mentioned.

He said, "Valery Vasilyevich, for the past several months you have regularly reported to me on the situation in the Kursk Region and highlighted our most effective units operating there. Today, I cannot help but name them."

These units include the 76th Airborne Division and its 234th, 237th, and 104th Air Assault Regiments; and the 106th Airborne Division and its 119th, 137th, and 51st Parachute Regiments.
