Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has announced that his government is ready to temporarily shelter Palestinians affected by the war in Gaza. He stated that in the first phase, approximately 1,000 injured Palestinians could be rescued.

Prabowo’s remarks came as he began his trip to Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar. He said that Indonesia is prepared to rescue Palestinians, especially those who are injured, mentally distressed, or orphaned. He further mentioned that the injured would be accommodated in Indonesia until they fully recover and until the situation in Gaza becomes safe.

Prabowo stated, "Indonesia's commitment to the safety and independence of Palestinians has inspired our government to take more active steps."

Indonesia supports a two-state solution and has sent humanitarian aid to help resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict. Prabowo's comments came two months after Indonesia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly protested against U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to permanently relocate Palestinians from Gaza.
