Mexico City, March 29 – Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Friday that she had a "productive meeting" with U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristjen Nielsen.
In a post, Sheinbaum mentioned that the relationship between the two neighboring countries is good, despite U.S. President Donald Trump escalating tensions by announcing a trade war and imposing tariffs.
The Mexican government stated that during the meeting, the two countries discussed further cooperation, particularly on immigration and security issues. Emphasis was placed on "respect for sovereignty and coordination without any form of subordination."
