Washington – President Donald Trump is not only reshaping the federal government but also transforming the historic Oval Office. In nearly eight weeks since returning to power, he has tripled the number of former presidents' portraits on the walls and filled America’s most iconic office with golden statues, chandeliers, and paintings.

A World of Gold

Trump's signature design is now evident in every corner of the Oval Office. Above the fireplace, golden Vermeil statues have been placed, alongside a golden eagle on the side table and Rococo-style golden mirrors on the doors. Additionally, gilded cherub sculptures from Mar-a-Lago have been added. Even the TV remote is gold-plated! The president had considered installing a chandelier, though that plan was ultimately scrapped.

Mar-a-Lago Influence

The White House is being redesigned in the style of Trump’s Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago. Soon, the Rose Garden’s grass will be replaced with stone, creating a patio similar to Mar-a-Lago. There are also plans to build a new ballroom on the South Lawn, inspired by the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles, which Trump has personally pledged to finance.

Gallery of Presidents

The walls of the Oval Office are now packed with portraits of former presidents and freedom fighters. Paintings of Ronald Reagan, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Andrew Jackson are displayed so closely that their frames nearly touch. The modern artworks from the Obama era have been replaced with historical figures. Above the fireplace, the ivy decoration from JFK’s time has been substituted with seven golden ornamental pieces.

Criticism and Symbolic Changes

A former White House official remarked, “This décor is more fit for a king than a president.” The traditional Resolute Desk has been temporarily replaced with a smaller desk, and on the coffee table, items such as a gold-plated paperweight with ‘Trump’ engraved on it, a replica of the FIFA World Cup trophy, and a plaque reading “Gulf of America” have been added.

Future Plans

Each weekend, Trump reportedly brings a new decorative item from Mar-a-Lago to the Oval Office. The FIFA World Cup trophy has been placed behind his desk in anticipation of discussions about the 2026 tournament. Reflecting on the $1.75 million renovation during his first term, Trump stated, “These changes keep me energized.”

Trump’s redecorating efforts are not just about changing an office, but also about making a symbolic statement of power. Every design choice reflects his personality, ensuring that this transformation will be remembered in the pages of history.
