Washington, March 12 – U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday during a meeting with the Irish Prime Minister that no Palestinians will be expelled from the Gaza Strip.
President Trump said, "No one is expelling any Palestinians," in response to a question that arose following remarks made by Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. On Sunday, Smotrich announced that Tel Aviv would establish a new "Emigration Authority" office to facilitate the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza.
He further claimed that this plan had no opposition from the Trump administration, stating, "Various officials from the administration have repeatedly told me, ‘We will not allow 2 million Nazis (referring to Gaza’s Palestinians) to live this way.’" His comments have sparked widespread discussion in international media. He added, "This is no longer just an imagination; this is realistic, and it is the only viable plan."
In February, President Trump proposed a Gaza acquisition plan, which suggested the displacement of Palestinians from their land and their resettlement elsewhere. This plan has faced global criticism and has been widely condemned as ethnic cleansing.
