Russia Warns Australia: "Severe Consequences" if It Sends Troops to Ukraine for Peacekeeping Mission

Moscow, March 10 – Russia has warned Australia that if it sends troops to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping mission, it will face "severe consequences." According to a statement from the Russian embassy, the presence of Western troops on Ukrainian soil is unacceptable to Russia, and Russia will not remain passive in this regard.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported that the Russian embassy's statement said, "For Australia, joining the so-called 'coalition of the willing' will bring severe consequences. Once again, the presence of Western troops is unacceptable to Russia, and we will not remain passive observers."

The statement further added, "To those who want to interpret this as a threat, it is not. It is a warning. Russia has no intention of harming Australians, and Canberra can easily avoid trouble by simply refraining from such irresponsible adventurism."

The statement also pointed out that Australia's sudden interest in participating in peacekeeping activities, while strongly supporting the prolongation of the war, was more surprising.
