Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday that the India-European Union (EU) Free Trade Agreement will be finalized by 2025. He said, "Yesterday, we had sincere and fruitful discussions on various issues. We have asked our teams to work on a mutually beneficial free trade agreement, and this agreement will be implemented by the end of 2025."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday that the India-European Union (EU) Free Trade Agreement will be finalized by 2025. He said, "Yesterday, we had sincere and fruitful discussions on various issues. We have asked our teams to work on a mutually beneficial free trade agreement, and this agreement will be implemented by the end of 2025."

During a joint statement with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Delhi, Prime Minister Modi further stated, "This is one of the early visits in the new tenure of the European Commission. The two-decade-long strategic partnership between India and the EU is a natural and organic process, based on trust and democratic values."

On this occasion, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen confirmed that the EU and India have agreed to complete the long-awaited Free Trade Agreement this year and that both sides have agreed to strengthen their partnership in trade, technology, connectivity, and defence.

Ursula von der Leyen is currently on a two-day visit to India, accompanied by top leaders of EU member states.
