Moscow, February 26: The Kremlin spokesperson stated on Wednesday that a personal meeting between the Russian and U.S. presidents should take place, but no specific date has been set yet.

In a press briefing in Moscow, Dmitry Peskov said that the meeting should be well-prepared and there is mutual understanding regarding it.

"The agreements made between the heads of state and high-level representatives at the meeting in Riyadh are being implemented step by step. Communication at the expert level is being established through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and this process will continue. Eventually, preparations for the summit will take place," he said.

Peskov also mentioned that there are no plans for another phone conversation between Putin and Trump at the moment. However, with the resumption of Russia-U.S. talks, there is a possibility of another phone call between the leaders.

On February 12, Putin and Trump had their first phone conversation when Trump began his term. They discussed various issues such as prisoner exchanges, peace agreements for Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, Iran’s nuclear program, and bilateral economic relations between Russia and the U.S.

When asked about the possibility of deploying European peacekeeping forces in Ukraine, Peskov clearly stated that Russia had not discussed the participation of Chinese troops in such a mission.

Additionally, regarding a rare earth metals agreement between Ukraine and the United States, Peskov said that no official announcement has been made yet, but some "serious" issues may arise following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the U.S.
