Pope Francis' health condition has shown some improvement. He spent his eighth night in the hospital and is currently receiving treatment for double pneumonia at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome, as confirmed by the Vatican. The 88-year-old Pope was admitted to the hospital on February 14 with a cold, cough, and bronchitis, which later developed into pneumonia. Doctors had stated that there was no immediate life-threatening danger, but his condition remained critical.

During a press conference last Friday, Professor Sergio Alfieri of the Gemelli Hospital stated that there had been some improvement in the Pope's physical condition, and doctors had been able to gradually reduce the dosage of his medication. However, he again confirmed that the Pope is not out of danger yet and that there is no risk of death.

Meanwhile, Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin dismissed "unfounded rumors" and said, "For now, the focus is only on the Pope's recovery and his health, and it is not yet time to consider his future work capacity."

Pope Francis is currently resting in a special papal suite at the Gemelli Hospital, and occasionally, he prays from a chair or a small bench beside his bed. His doctors have stated that the Pope will remain in the hospital for the next week, and if his condition continues to improve, he may return to the papal residence, Santa Marta.

However, the Pope's hospital stay has raised questions about his future, especially due to his age and physical challenges. In 2021, Pope Francis underwent two major surgeries, and his physical condition has deteriorated in recent years. However, doctors have mentioned that the Pope's physical condition remains stable, and his mental resilience is remarkable.
