February 20, 2025: The Indian national cricket team defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in their opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. With Bangladesh being bowled out for 228 runs in their innings, India was set a target of 229. India successfully chased the target with 21 balls to spare, winning the match.

Bangladesh, batting first, saw a remarkable century from young player Towhid Hridoy (100 runs, 118 balls, 6 fours, and 2 sixes). Despite Hridoy's valiant effort, Bangladesh's score remained modest. Mohammad Shami's brilliant five-wicket haul strengthened India's bowling attack and restricted Bangladesh to 228 runs.

In India's batting, although the openers started cautiously, the middle-order batsmen kept the pressure under control and played key roles in guiding the team to victory.

India's next match will be against Pakistan on February 23, a highly anticipated clash that the entire cricket world will be watching.
