Federal Employees Protest Against Elon Musk with "Hold the Line" and "Diamond Hands" Slogans
By Virginia Heffernan
Despite Elon Musk’s attempts to expel them, federal employees have launched a strong resistance against the oligarchy. This protest, directed at President Trump’s administration and Musk’s "Department of Government Efficiency" (Doge) operations, is organized and strategic. Their protest may be viewed as a form of political short squeeze.
Since January 28, 2025, federal employees have refused to quit their jobs, despite being pressured to resign, with 2 million employees facing this pressure, but only 75,000 accepted the buyout. However, when employees began being unfairly fired one after another, some employees maintained their faith. They stood by the truth, supporting those who were wrongfully dismissed.
This undoubtedly follows the principles outlined by Solzhenitsyn in "Live Not by Lies." This movement is not the result of revolutionary ideals, but rather a testament to middle-class workers' commitment to the truth. Their individual efforts, dedicated to the nation and the people, serve as a significant example for all of us.
By challenging the Trump-Musk government collectively, federal employees have initiated a revolution similar to the GameStop short squeeze, where small investors banded together to destabilize large hedge funds. Like GameStop, these employees have held firm to their beliefs and the slogan "Hold the Line," which has become a symbol of their resolve.
The employees remain steadfast in their beliefs and say, “We will still hold on, and only then can we win against them.”
