7,000 Thai Nationals Rescued from Myanmar to Be Transferred Quickly - Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra
Bangkok, February 19 : Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra stated that 7,000 people rescued from illegal call center operations in Myanmar are waiting to be transferred to Thailand. In a statement on Wednesday, she said that the Thai government is working swiftly to resolve the issue, and the rescued individuals will be brought to Thailand.
The incident is related to call centers located near Myanmar's border, where many people were being forced to work. The Prime Minister further emphasized that the Thai government is committed to ensuring the safety and health of these individuals and will bring them to Thailand as quickly as possible.
So far, most of the rescued individuals are Myanmar nationals, but it is also reported that many others from different countries were involved. The Thai government is continuing to cooperate with Myanmar and other relevant authorities.
This is being considered a serious human rights issue, and there have been calls from the international community for stronger actions against such operations.
