Russia-Ukraine Peace Agreement Implementation: Emergency Summit of European Leaders in Paris - Sir Keir Starmer
February 17, 2025: Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Ukraine will not accept any peace agreement between Russia and the United States that excludes Ukraine. His comments came as Russian and U.S. officials are preparing for their first direct talks in Saudi Arabia regarding the end of the Ukraine war.

President Zelensky said, “We will not accept any negotiations where Ukraine is not present… Ukraine was unaware that such talks were happening… We believe that any negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine will yield no results.”

Amid this situation, European leaders gathered in Paris for an emergency summit, where British Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer announced, "If necessary, British troops will be sent to Ukraine to implement a peace agreement with Russia."

Additionally, European Union chief Ursula von der Leyen warned that Europe’s security “is at a turning point” and that an immediate “surge in defense” is required.

During this time, in solidarity with Ukraine, leaders from the United Kingdom, European Union, and NATO are discussing urgent measures to strengthen their defense capabilities.
