Thursday, Hamas announced that, as per the ceasefire agreement, they will release the next group of Israeli prisoners, resolving a significant dispute in the ongoing ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The group stated that Egyptian and Qatari mediators have committed to "work on removing all obstacles" and ensuring the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

The announcement mentioned that three Israeli prisoners will be released on Saturday. No immediate comment was received from Israel following Hamas's announcement.

This step by Hamas will help maintain the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, although its future remains uncertain.

Hamas had previously warned that the release of the next group of Israeli prisoners could be delayed, accusing Israel of not fulfilling the terms of the ceasefire agreement, including providing permission for tents and shelters. Israel, with the support of U.S. President Donald Trump, had threatened to resume attacks if the prisoner release did not take place.

Hamas stated that its delegation held discussions with Egyptian officials in Cairo and contacted the Prime Minister of Qatar to ensure the provision of shelter, medical supplies, fuel, and heavy machinery for Gaza.

Egyptian state television, Cairo, reported that Egypt and Qatar have successfully mediated the dispute. These two Arab countries have played a crucial role as mediators in facilitating the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect in January after 15 months of conflict.
