A source from Egypt revealed on Wednesday night that Egypt and Qatar have intensified diplomatic efforts to uphold the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

"Both Cairo and Doha are encouraging all parties to adhere to the agreement, although political and practical challenges are making it increasingly difficult to implement the agreement," the source told Al-Kahira News Channel.

On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that if Hamas does not release prisoners by noon on Saturday, the Gaza ceasefire agreement will be terminated. This threat came one day after Hamas announced that it would suspend the release of the next group of prisoners in response to Israel violating the ceasefire agreement.

Meanwhile, Jordan's King Abdullah discussed the "dangerous situation" in Gaza and the West Bank in a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron. According to a post from Jordan's royal court, King Abdullah reiterated his country's "firm stance" against U.S. President Donald Trump's controversial Gaza transfer plan during the call.

In addition, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stated that if Trump's Gaza transfer plan is included in the agenda, he would not visit Washington for talks at the White House. Egypt confirmed that Trump had extended an open invitation to Sisi to visit the White House last month, but no specific date has been set for the visit.

Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry visited Washington this week. According to Egyptian sources, one of the purposes of his visit was to avoid uncomfortable situations during the President's potential visit.

Furthermore, Egypt stated that their plans should focus on discussions about the reconstruction of Gaza, where "Palestinians should be able to remain on their land."
