Riyadh: The Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition and the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New York, aimed at strengthening international counter-terrorism efforts and promoting global security and stability.

Riyadh: The Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition and the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New York, aimed at strengthening international counter-terrorism efforts and promoting global security and stability.
The MoU aims to unify efforts in addressing terrorist threats in accordance with the regulations of both parties, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday.
The coalition was represented by Secretary-General Major General Mohammed Al-Moghedi, and the UN Counter-Terrorism Office was represented by Under-Secretary-General Vladimir Voronkov.
Through this MoU, joint counter-terrorism projects will be supported, focusing on capacity-building, training, awareness initiatives, and addressing emerging challenges.
It also outlines strategic cooperation in areas such as specialized law enforcement training and tailored technical assistance to member states.
Al-Moghedi emphasized the importance of this MoU, stating that it highlights the coalition's commitment to countering terrorism and is a significant step toward enhancing international cooperation to ensure global security.
He further stated that working with the UN would facilitate the exchange of expertise and enable member states to address security challenges more effectively.
