Former President Joe Biden's Security Clearance Revoked by President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump has announced that he will "immediately revoke former President Joe Biden's security clearance and stop his daily intelligence briefings." He described this decision as a retaliatory measure. Trump posted on his social media platform 'Truth Social,' saying, "I am immediately revoking Joe Biden's security clearance and stopping his daily intelligence briefings."

This action is a response to what Biden did four years ago when he instructed his intelligence officials to stop sharing briefings with Trump, citing Trump's "erratic behavior" and deeming him unfit to handle sensitive security information.

Former U.S. presidents typically do not receive security clearances because they are not required to have them as elected officials. However, traditionally, they are sometimes provided with special briefings, particularly when traveling abroad or meeting with foreign governments, if necessary.

Trump further claimed that former special counsel Robert Hur’s report about Biden's possession of classified documents influenced his decision. However, the information Trump referenced does not align with the actual report, as Hur clearly stated that no charges would be filed against Biden. He noted that Biden could be portrayed as a “well-meaning, elderly man with poor memory” in court, which would likely lead to an acquittal.

Trump also remarked, "I will always protect our national security," and concluded with, "Joe, you're fired. Make America Great Again!"

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Biden declined to comment on Trump's claim, as Biden never held a security clearance.
