Los Angeles, February 2 – Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks have completed a major trade that will see Luka Dončić join the Lakers while Anthony Davis heads to Dallas. In this trade, not only two superstars but also several players and draft picks have been exchanged.

Luka Dončić will join the Lakers, and alongside Davis, Dallas will also send Maxie Klieber and Markieff Morris to Los Angeles. The Mavericks will receive Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round draft pick. Additionally, the Utah Jazz are involved in this trade and will receive Jalen Hood-Schifino and a 2025 second-round draft pick. A 2025 second-round pick from Dallas will also be sent to the Jazz.

Dallas Mavericks' General Manager, Nico Harrison, told ESPN, "We believe that defense is what wins championships. With an All-Defensive center and an All-NBA player, our team will be stronger. We are ready to win now and in the future."
